So it’s a terrible photo, but that’s because the second you look Toot’s way, she torpedoes onto your shoulder and head butts your face with the passion of a survivor from a deserted island!
The thing is, Toot is a survivor. She arrived into our care at HUHA Vets – Stokes Valley two weeks ago, very close to death. Her kidneys had gone into failure, she was collapsed and we feared there was no bringing her back.
Our vets and nurses worked hard on this little lady and when her family were unable to continue, they signed her over and we kept going, absorbing the costs of her emergency care.
There were tears of joy when she rallied and sat up, and more when her repeat blood tests came back with normal kidney levels.
We are not sure what caused such an extreme organ shutdown response on such a healthy kitten, but suspect she had ingested some anti-freeze or possibly munched on some lilies? Both extremely toxic to cats.
We are just so excited to be starting the search for a perfect home for this magical little dynamo. She sure has a lot of life to live and a lot of love to give.
If you have an active and exciting household and would like a “dog” cat that will be face first in every aspect of your business, please call us about Toot on 04 392-3232.
Toot is currently in the Hutt Valley.
