Pride of HUHA nominated for Pride of NZ Award

PPC tshirt_ClaireOur Claire Thornton, beloved Otaki Shelter Manager and Trustee for HUHA; Duty Manager par excellence; advocate, rescuer, defender and healer of animals (the ultimate combination of animal rights and welfare) and mentor, leader, encyclopedia and best friend of HUHA volunteers and animal owners everywhere, has been nominated for the very prestigious Pride of New Zealand awards.

This is a very big deal for HUHA and for all those who dedicate their hearts, time and energy to doing right by animals and giving them a voice and a chance. The community does give a toss, the community wants to recognise and reward people who will do this. It is important.

Couldn’t be happier at HUHA and the cherry on the top would be to see her win it! As role models go, it would be hard to go past HUHA’s Carolyn Press McKenzie and Claire Thornton.

Go Claire, go HUHA.
